Connecting Global Cleantech Leaders
WHO WE ARE
The International Cleantech Network (ICN) is a global alliance of 22 leading cleantech clusters across four continents, specializing in thematic areas such as energy, circular economy, watertech, and beyond.
Works with partners like C40 Cities, ICLEI, and the Solar Impulse Foundation to help cities, regions, and companies tackle pressing environmental challenges.
Acts as an official observer to COP30, bringing the voice of innovation networks into global climate discussions.
Understands and navigates international funding mechanisms to turn climate ambition into real action.

why work with us
We connect cities, corporates, and EU consortiums with cleantech innovators from across four continents.
-
ICN helps cities transform complex sustainability goals into actionable cleantech projects — drawing on proven solutions from places like Rio de Janeiro, Cape Town, Vancouver, Copenhagen, and New York State.
Through our long-standing collaboration with C40 Cities, we connect local authorities with innovative solution providers and peers facing similar challenges, enabling fast knowledge transfer from city to city — turning local issues into shared, solvable ones and delivering small solutions to big urban challenges. -
ICN supports forward-thinking companies like Novafos and Metro Vancouver in finding and co-developing cleantech innovations that solve real operational and environmental challenges.
Through ICN, corporates gain access to a curated network of 7,000+ startups and SMEs, as well as valuable insights into funding mechanisms across the EU and beyond — enabling partnerships with cities and innovators that accelerate sustainable transformation and deliver tangible impact. -
ICN engages in both smaller, research- and knowledge-driven consortiums of around five partners, and large-scale industrial projects with up to 50 partners — including one with a total investment of nearly €600 million.
We understand the dynamics of various EU funding programs and connect the right mix of cities, companies, and researchers to turn cleantech ideas into real-world impact.
Collaborating Across Sectors and Borders
