Coltexcircular

Coltexcircular accelerates the circular transformation of Colombia’s textile and fashion sector by strengthening SME competitiveness, fostering EU–Latin America collaboration, and scaling sustainable production models.

Implemented by Fundación Inexmoda in partnership with the International Cleantech Network (ICN), the project is funded under the European Union’s AL-INVEST Verde programme (Component 1), led by Sequa.

Over an 8-month period, Coltexcircular supports textile and fashion SMEs in transitioning from linear production systems toward circular value chains. Through technical assistance, pilot actions, capacity building, and international knowledge exchange, the project enables companies to adopt eco-design principles, improve resource efficiency, integrate recycling solutions, and develop new circular business models.

The initiative focuses on:

• Circular production and waste reduction in textile manufacturing
• Strengthening SME competitiveness through sustainable innovation
• EU–Latin America partnership and technology exchange
• Market positioning of Colombian companies within global green value chains

Colombia’s textile sector plays a strategic role in employment and exports, yet faces growing environmental and competitiveness challenges. Coltexcircular addresses these challenges by linking business organisations, SMEs, and European cleantech ecosystems to accelerate the adoption of sustainable practices and increase long-term resilience.

As a project partner, ICN mobilises its global cleantech cluster network to facilitate international matchmaking, knowledge transfer, and dissemination of results across European and Latin American innovation ecosystems.

Coltexcircular contributes to advancing green value chains, reducing environmental impact, and strengthening the role of SMEs in the transition to a low-carbon, circular economy.
