HI2 Valley

HI2 Valley is one of ICN’s most ambitious projects, standing at the forefront of Europe’s clean energy transition. The initiative brings together partners across Upper Austria, Styria, and Carinthia to establish an integrated hydrogen ecosystem capable of producing over 10,000 tons of green hydrogen annually.
Over six years, the project aims to connect industries, energy providers, and innovation clusters to demonstrate how hydrogen can power a sustainable industrial future.

With €20 million in Horizon Europe funding and a total investment of almost €600 million, HI2 Valley represents a unique collaboration between research, policy, and industry. As an active partner, ICN mobilises its international network of cleantech clusters to foster knowledge transfer, innovation, and the scaling of clean technologies. The project is part of ICN’s Energy Thematic Group, perfectly reflecting the network’s mission to turn collaboration into real-world impact.
